He will be in charge of the division that generates over half of total income.
Tim DeSett has been named President of North American Commercial Lines by Hub International Limited (HUB).
DeSett will be in charge of the commercial lines strategy for the insurance broking firm, with the goal of promoting organic growth. Almost half of HUB’s entire revenue comes from its commercial lines division.
DeSett will collaborate closely with the company’s resource leaders, business divisions, and executive team in his new role. Important topics such product lines, complicated risk, middle-market companies, and industry specialities will be the main focus. One of his responsibilities is to integrate HUB’s capabilities to improve the value of services offered to customers.
“I am excited to join HUB and lead the commercial lines segment,” said DeSett. “HUB has achieved rapid organic growth over the years, and I look forward to working with this talented team to continue that momentum and further enhance our offerings to clients.”
Chris Treanor, president of programs and specialities at HUB, will be DeSett’s supervisor.
According to Treanor, the move is a significant milestone for HUB’s practice of specialised business lines.
“Tim’s leadership and extensive experience will be invaluable to HUB in expanding our capabilities and attaining the best results for our clients,” Treanor said.
DeSett brings more than thirty years of insurance sector experience to HUB. He formerly served as executive vice president at Lockton, where he was in charge of a global enterprise worth $850 million. In addition to developing strategies for ten industrial groups, this role includes managing risk for small company and middle-market segments.
In addition, DeSett oversaw commercial business operations in the US, Canada, and Bermuda while serving as AIG’s head of North America Field Operations and Distribution.
