Chubb appoints international P&C leader

 

Company veteran will oversee property, casualty, professional lines and more

Mark Homan (shown above) has been named division president, international property and casualty, for Overseas General Insurance, the business’s worldwide general insurance operations, by Chubb, the world’s largest publicly traded property-casualty insurance company.

Homan presently works as the division’s chief operating officer and will begin his new position on June 1.

According to the company, Homan will be in charge of Chubb’s international commercial P&C business, which includes property, casualty, professional lines, energy, and marine products.

Juan Luis Ortega, executive vice president of Chubb Group and president of Overseas General Insurance, will report to Homan.

“Mark is an experienced underwriter with deep international experience,” Ortega said. “He has successfully led our casualty business for the past 12 years at Chubb, helping to drive growth that has positioned Chubb as a market leader in one of our largest international P&C businesses.” From casualty to other P&C lines, Mark has continually proven a smart and effective approach to managing and increasing our business.”

Homan has worked in the industry for three decades. Prior to becoming the division’s COO, he was executive vice president of international casualty. Prior to joining Chubb in 2011, Homan held executive positions in both Europe and the United States, including spells at Allianz, AIG, and Wüba, where he was a board member.

Homan takes over for Timothy O’Donnel in the role. After 20 years at Chubb, O’Donnell is retiring.

Annmarie Camp has been named North America business development leader, while Frances O’Brien has been named chief risk officer.
