Scholarship Description:

The EDUFI Fellowship is intended, in particular, to provide beginning funding for PhD thesis research in Finland.

For particularly convincing reasons, doctoral students or young researchers from outside Finland studying in a Finnish University department can get beginning financing for finishing a doctoral research project in Finland, earning a double degree, or attending a study tour. The fellowship will last 3-12 months, with visits lasting 3-6 months, and the chosen candidate will get 1,500 euros per month (2021).

EDUFI Finland Fellowship Scholarships 2023 is available to undertake Fellowship, Short Training level programs at Finland Universities.

Scholarship Benefits:

The fellows will not be able to apply for the EDUFI Fellowship because the grant will only be awarded to a Finnish university department.

The money will be paid to the fellow as a personal grant by the university. The university will bill EDUFI for the grant in one lump payment as soon as the scholarship holder’s arrival in Finland is confirmed, but no later than when the scholarship period begins.

The gift might be divided into many installments.

The award is designed to support the fellow’s living expenses in Finland. We will not pay for separate lodging or travel, visa, residence permit, or insurance charges.

Eligible Nationalities:

Any foreign nationality student can apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria:

You can apply for the fellowship grant if

  • you work as a researcher or a teacher in a Finnish university department
  • you will be hosting the research fellow
  • you will commit to common objectives with the research fellow
  • you will offer facilities and equipment for the use of the research fellow
  • you will supervise the research.

You can apply for a fellowship for a non-Finnish post-graduate (Master’s degree) student or young researcher whom you will invite to Finland or who has lived in Finland for a maximum of one year prior to applying for the fellowship.

All foreign nationals and disciplines of study are eligible for the EDUFI Fellowship.

Application Procedure:

The EDUFI Fellowship application form is available in Finnish, Swedish, and English. The application form includes instructions on how to complete it as well as a list of essential annexes. Please send the signed form and annexes to Kirjaamo(at) oph.fi with the topic “EDUFI Fellowship” in the subject line.

NB! EDUFI will not handle applications if the applicant is not a representative of a Finnish university.
